Scientific, Cultural and Academic Relations:
Both Iran and Slovenia are rich in science and culture, and so they share good opportunities for cooperation with each other.
The program for cultural exchanges between the two countries was first signed in 1994 during the visit by Dr. Velayati, then the Iranian Foreign Affairs Minister to Slovenia.
The Iranian Cultural Week in Slovenia was held in 2013.
The first term of dialogue among religions conference between Iran and Slovenia was held on May 2008 in Ljubljana. Also the Second term of dialogue among religions was held by a visit from a 5 member Slovenian delegation to Iran in 2015. ICRO Center for Dialogue of Religions hosted the event in the context of Islam-Christianity Dialogue for Peacein Tehran and Qom. The third term is organized to be held in 2017-2018 in Slovenia.
Within the academic scope, Iranian Studies and Persian Language and Literature courses are being held at the Ljubljana, Maribor and Nova Gorica Universities.

2- MoU on Scientific Cooperation between the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of Iran and Faculty of Arts of University of Maribor - 30/08/2012 (The MoU was renewed at 11/07/2017)
3- MoU on Scientific Cooperation between the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of Iran and Faculty of Arts of University of Ljubljana - 15/03/2013 (The MoU was renewed at 22/09/2017)
4- Agreement on Cooperation between National Library and Archives of I.R.Iran and National and University Library of Slovenia- 02/01/2015
5- MoU on Cooperation between University of Tehran and University of Ljubljana - 21/03/2015
